Most clients typically use Eggshell Promar 200 for the walls, which is cleanable. This is the best cost-effective paint. You get good quality paint for around $30 a gallon. This has been Mendez Painting’s go-to paint for the last 20 years. Any other paints for example duration, emerald, you pretty much are overpaying. That is the reason the manufacturer will recommend it, only for their sales benefit. There are some expectations, if that's the case, we will recommend the products needed.
Old houses with a lot of drywall damage, or if you strongly dislike the sheen. There are flat paints that are cleanable but you will be paying extra for the benefit of a cleanable flat.
Recommended for walls 2 coats, if it is a lighter or darker a 3rd coat may be recommended, but historically speaking, 2 coats does the job.
Recommend for trim 1 coat, but will depend on application or color. Same color will be 1 coat.
Recommended for ceilings, the same color will be 1 coat, if they are changing colors or dry it will require 2 coats.
A popular trend in interior painting is the use of whites and monochromatic color schemes, where the same color is applied throughout with different sheens for variation. A slow-rising percentage of homeowners are also painting their trim a darker color than their walls for a subtle contrast. While some are keeping things neutral, others are adding pops of color, especially in dining rooms or as accent walls, with this trend being more common among senior homeowners. Overall, clean and classic styles remain popular, with variations depending on personal preference. As for the lifespan of past trends, Mendez Painting estimates there are about six years left for this white and monochromatic color trend as of 2025.
Not necessarily but majority of the time they are the same white but different finish, at the end of the day they will look different to a certain extent.
Mendez Painting recommends clients to remove certain personal and delicate items such as pictures, devices, empty china cabinets, etc… Mendez Painting can help with heavy frames or furniture. The better the client is prepared it will be a better outcome. For window treatment, we recommend the client to remove the curtains, if the client is not able to, Mendez Painting can assist but will need the client to give us a clear area to leave the curtains safe.
The answer is yes, although this may complicate the job and may result in an upcharge.
Yes. 100%, hardwoods will be covered with paper.

We try to use PVC as much as possible. Certain pieces are not available in PVC. The benefit of using PVC is its durability, it won't rot like your typical wood.
Mendez Painting recommends not to, as it may peel but we understand some homeowners like to have them painted and we can do that but in this case, Mendez Painting does not offer a warranty.
Whites are still going hard in the trend and currently, some of the taupe colors are returning in the body of the houses.
Mendez Painting typically uses Super Paint Satin finish for the siding, and gloss for the trim. Super Paint is a 25-year paint by Sherwin Williams, we get it for around $30 a gallon, this is the best cost-effective paint for the exterior, 100%, quality, and cost are perfect. Once you get into the duration and emeralds, you are just over paying for that. Do not be surprised that these products are pushed by the manufacturer.
The majority of the time if it is the same color, 1 coat will do. If it is a color change then 2 coats. Spraying application even if it is changing colors, you can get away with 1 coat. Unless the color change is drastic. In some uncommon situations, it could be up to 3 coats, depending on the colors you use.
Siding will only get sprayed, stucco will be sprayed and backrolled. Brick if it hasn't been painted will need to be primed and then sprayed.
